Athletics Shake Up

Barber-Scotia College has named a new Director of Athletics going into the 2016-2017 academic year. Jonathan Sisk will be replaced by long time women's basketball head coach, Marcel Webster. The move comes as the College downsizes its staff under the leadership of new board chair, Barry Green.

Coach Webster is the longest tenured member of the staff as he was brought in to develop the women's basketball program and has done a spectacular job over the past several years. His teams had consistently outperformed their performance totals from prior years leading up to the current shortened season. Coach Webster's program has been exemplary off the court as well as he produced three graduates and six USCAA All Academic Team Honorees over the past two seasons. On the court he also had the pleasure of developing and watching the performances of two 1,000 point scorers and an USCAA All-American. All of these accomplishments were the first in the USCAA era of women's basketball at Barber-Scotia College.

Before coming to Barber-Scotia College, Coach Webster directed a successful AAU program in the Durham area and led Stevens Prep Academy in Raleigh. He also had stops with Bronx Community College, North Carolina Central University, Northern Durham High School and East Chapel Hill High School.

Coach Webster will be looking to continue and expand on the academic successes of the department and bring his own style of leadership to the Sabers.
