Sabers 72 Florida College 89

The Sabers finally returned to action after a long break to take on the visiting Falcons from Florida College. Parrish Canty got everyone excited early in the game with 2 unbelievable blocks that seemed to defy gravity and the laws of physics. The crowd was raucous from the tip and the game lived up to the hype as both teams kept the crowd on their feet with electric dribbling, powerful dunks, breakaway finishes and no look passes.

Parrish continued to wow the crowd later in the half as he broke free and nearly brought the goal down with a powerful one handed dunk, but the efforts were matched by the Falcons in both point total and athleticism as they were able to bring the crowd to their feet with a loud and destructive dunk of their own on their way to a 33 to 36 lead at the half.

The Sabers got hot from the field in the second half behind the scoring of Will Williams, Shaq Wilson and Walt Jackson. Will weaved his way through traffic all night as he was able to collect 16 points including several circus lay ins. Wilson continued his consistently stellar play with 16 points and 5 assists and Jackson hit on all cylinders as he poured in 22 points on 8 of 15 from the floor and 4 of 7 from deep. Jackson kept the Sabers close with his precision shooting from outside, but the Falcons were able to extend their lead in the final minutes of the game and come away with a 17 point victory that doesn't tell the true competitiveness of the game.

The Sabers next scheduled contest is against Furman University on December 16th.
